Section 5 - Criminal record

If you have a criminal record a separate letter should be written to the Principal explaining the circumstances and stating that you have made an application to join the college. This information will be treated in the strictest confidence. You will normally be invited to a meeting with the Principal where the aim will be to reach agreement with you over taking your application forward. You will also be given advice on entry to certain career areas where criminal records may be an issue.

The college reserves the right to request a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on any applicant and to take appropriate action in respect of any applicant who has failed to disclose a criminal record. An enhanced DBS check will be routinely required where work experience placements or similar activities involve regular contact with children or vulnerable adults. Students may be required to meet the cost of such checks (currently £44): this is refunded on successful completion of the qualification.

Section 7 - Declaration

I confirm that all the information provided by me is correct to the best of my knowledge. If I am, or will be, 19 years or older on 1st September 2018, I also confirm I have provided full details of the Level 2 (GCSEs or equivalents) and Level 3 (A levels and equivalents) qualifications I have achieved, or will have achieved, before I start at Worthing College.
